The news does not get any better for the Los Angeles Kings during the early stages of the 2015-16 season. On Monday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reported that forward Dwight King will be sidelined for two months with a broken foot. This coming after the winger underwent successful surgery.
King, who was injured in last Saturday’s preseason finale in Las Vegas, has yet to play this season, and now the silver-and-black will have to wait until at least December before seeing the big 26-year-old in the lineup.
A fourth-round draft choice in 2007, King has spent four-plus seasons with the Kings. Last season, the native of Meadow Lake, Sask., played in 81 games, scoring 13 goals and adding 13 assists. But he will be missed dearly as a physical asset, dishing out 124 hits last season.
