Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 7 vs. Carolina, October 23, 2015, 7:30pm PST

After opening their road schedule on Thursday with another win, the Los Angeles Kings head right back home on Friday where they will play host to the 2-4-0 Carolina Hurricanes on Hockey Fights Cancer Night in the first of two meetings this season. Friday also marks the first time this season that the Kings have played on back-to-back nights.

Last season, the Kings and Canes split their season series with the home team winning each time. The silver-and-black will hope that continues against a club they have not seen since last November.

Like the Kings, the Canes started the season with three-straight losses but, also like the Kings, have been playing better hockey since then. They are coming off a 1-0 overtime victory on Wednesday over the Colorado Avalanche in Denver and will hope to continue their winning ways on their three-game tour of the southwest.

On Wednesday, it was sophomore Victor Rask who won it in overtime potting his second of the year. In goal, Cam Ward led the way, stopping all 26 shots to earn his first shutout of the season and the 23rd of his career.

So far, the Canes are led in scoring by Eric Staal, Kris Versteeg and Justin Faulk, who each have four points entering Friday’s contest. As sound as the Kings have been defensively, they will need to keep an eye out for these three in particular.

As for the Kings, they will be a tired bunch coming into STAPLES Center on Friday. Coming off a 4-1 victory in San Jose on Thursday, they will be looking to extend their winning ways to four-straight games, but they will be turning to Jonathan Quick in goal who, despite popular belief, did not start on Thursday as Jhonas Enroth made his debut. After a solid 39-save performance in NorCal, Enroth will get a deserved rest to make way for a well-rested Quick who will look to stymie the struggling Canes.

Both teams are simply looking to enter the weekend with some momentum, but the Kings hope to give their fans a memorable return home.

Enjoy the game!
