Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 45 vs. Dallas, January 19, 2016, 7:30pm PST
After winning in Anaheim on Sunday, the Los Angeles Kings return home on Tuesday night for their first of three meetings with the 29-12-5 Dallas Stars.
The Stars come into STAPLES Center with one of the most potent offenses in hockey. Jamie Benn leads the club with 26 goals and 56 points while Tyler Seguin isn’t too far behind with 25 goals and 53 points — both good enough for second on the team. Even a familiar foe in Patrick Sharp is celebrating a great maiden season in Texas scoring 16 goals and 37 points through 46 games.
Speaking of familiar adversaries, the Kings will most likely be suiting up against netminder Antti Niemi. In 31 games this season, the Finnish backstop is 16-8-5 with a 2.46 goals-against average, a .913 save percentage and three shutouts.
For the Kings, they have plenty of hot hands themselves.
Anze Kopitar, fresh off his new contract, is flying high with 18 points in his last 11 outings. Tyler Toffoli, who leads his club with 22 goals, has scored 10 of them in his last 12 games. Defenseman Jake Muzzin is even on a hot streak as he has recorded points in his last seven games.
They may not be divisional rivals anymore but it is nonetheless exciting when the Kings and Stars meet up. We will see what Tuesday has in store.
Enjoy the game!
