Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 49 vs. Colorado, January 27, 2016, 7:30pm PST

It is the rubber match of their season series. The Los Angeles Kings and the 26-22-3 Colorado Avalanche meet for the third and final time this season, splitting the first two games. The silver-and-black will hope to make the most out of their final tune-up before the All-Star break.

The home team has won each meeting in this season series, which bodes well for the Kings. However, it was the Avalanche who took the last meeting: a 4-1 win on Jan. 4. Defenseman Tyson Barrie had a career-high night that game, scoring two goals and adding two assists for a four-point outing.

But the Kings are coming off an exciting overtime win in San Jose and will have Milan Lucic back in the lineup who missed the last game due to suspension. The Avs are also coming off a game in San Jose. Unfortunately, they were shellacked on Tuesday night, falling by a 6-2 score.

Expect the Avs to go with netminder Calvin Pickard on Wednesday. The youngster had a rough outing on Tuesday as he allowed four goals on 16 shots through two periods. Starting netminder Semyon Varlamov is not with the team on their road trip due to legal matters. Roman Will, who replaced Pickard in the third on Tuesday, made two saves on three shots. Do not rule out him starting on Wednesday either but do lean towards Pickard getting the nod.

Jonathan Quick will be back in goal for Los Angeles after Jhonas Enroth played last game.  Quick helped beat the Avs back on Oct. 18, stopping 22 shots en route to a 2-1 victory.

It should be a great game as the Kings look to win the season series.

Enjoy the game!
