Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 55 @ New Jersey, February 14, 2016, 9:30am PST
Two nights after their dramatic overtime victory against the Rangers, the Los Angeles Kings take a trip to the other side of the Hudson River to take on the 28-21-7 New Jersey Devils in an early matinee.
The Kings and Devils split their season series last season with the road team winning each time. In the latter contest — at the Prudential Center — Anze Kopitar had a goal and two assists en route to a 3-1 Los Angeles win.
On the injury front, Jonathan Quick, who has been day-to-day with a lower body injury, practiced on Saturday and may start on Sunday, although that has not been confirmed. Unfortunately, Marian Gaborik, who left Thursday’s game early, had to return to Los Angeles and since been place on IR. No call-up from Ontario has been made as the Kings already have extra forwards.
For the Devils, they are coming off a Saturday game at Philadelphia where they won in overtime.
Adam Henrique enters Sunday’s game having scored three goals and two assists in his last four games, including netting the OT-winner on Saturday. The Devils have also been rolling on the power play as of late, converting on their last five opportunities while going 7-for-17 in their last six outings since the All-Star break.
Both teams hope to close the weekend on a high note. We’ll see which club can do just that.
Enjoy the game!
