Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 58 @ Nashville, February 20, 2016, 5pm PST
The Los Angeles Kings‘ seven-game road trip comes to an end on Saturday night, and they hope to close it out on a high note when they visit the 27-21-10 Nashville Predators. This is the second of three meetings between the two clubs and the first at Bridgestone Arena this season.
The last time the Kings and Preds met was on Halloween night when Jeff Carter ended a back-and-forth overtime affair with a beautiful breakaway goal to give Los Angeles the 4-3 victory. If the silver-and-black hope to continue their winning ways against the Preds, though, they may have to do so with the services of Anze Kopitar who suffered a lower-body injury on Thursday and is day-to-day as a result.
The Kings enter Saturday’s contest having lost three-straight. Their once-comfortable lead in the Pacific has now shrunk to two points as they need to find a way to score some goals and, of course, win some games. The Kings are 2-3-1 on their road trip.
For the Predators, they close out a three-game homestand having split the first two contests. They are coming off a 2-0 win over Boston on Thursday night and will hope for the same success against a Kings team which has had trouble finding the back of the net as of late.
Like the Kings, the Preds have had their share of offensive struggles. However, Filip Forsberg has not had any difficulties as he enters Saturday’s game with five goals in his last five games.
It should be a good matchup. So, we’ll see which team prevails.
Enjoy the game!
