Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 68 @ Chicago, March 14, 2016, 5pm PST
After wrapping up their nine-game stay in southern California, the Los Angeles Kings hit the road for a pair beginning on Monday night in the Windy City against the 41-22-6 Chicago Blackhawks. This will be third and final regular-season meeting between the two clubs.
The Kings and Hawks split their first two meetings this season with the home team winning each time. The Blackhawks won by a 4-2 count at the United Center on Nov. 2 while the Kings took the lone STAPLES Center on Nov. 28 in dramatic fashion, winning 3-2 in overtime on a goal by Marian Gaborik.
While they are a modest 5-4-1 in their last 10, the Blackhawks do boast an incredible 24-8-2 on home ice this season, which is good enough for second-overall and first in the West. The Kings will need to bring their A-game defensively should they hope to hand their conference rivals a rare loss in front of their home fans.
For the Hawks, they will start Corey Crawford for the fourth-straight time in goal. The Vezina candidate has started 16 of Chicago’s last 19 games and will be making his 57th start of the season on Monday night.
For the Kings, they will be going with Jonathan Quick in goal again while having Rob Scuderi and Kris Versteeg each making their returns to their former team’s barn.
The Kings and Hawks always provide scintillating hockey and Monday night should be no different.
Enjoy the game!
