Game 79; 46-28-5
VANCOUVER — Despite peppering the Canucks with 20 shots in the third period, the Los Angeles Kings did not not have an answer for Ryan Miller as his 40 saves propeled Vancouver to a 3-2 win on Monday night.

The Kings, though, did have luck against Miller early on as Tyler Toffoli opened the game with his 30th from Jeff Carter and Drew Doughty. With just 13 seconds to go in the frame, though, California native Emerson Etem tied the game for the Canucks.
In the second, however, the Kings regained the lead as, at the 9:15 mark, Kyle Clifford netted just his third of the year from Andy Andreoff. But the Canucks turned it on late.
First, at the 15:22 mark of the second, Jannik Hansen scored on the power play to tie it. Then, with just 33 seconds left in the period, Jared McCann beat Jonathan Quick for his ninth to give Vancouver their first lead of the night — one they would not relinquish.
In the third, Ryan Miller was the story as he built on his 20 saves with 20 more, catapulting the Canucks to their third-straight win while handing Los Angeles their second-straight defeat.
There is no rest, however, for the Kings as they are back on the ice Tuesday night when they visit Alberta to take on the Calgary Flames.
