Los Angeles Kings 2015-16 Regular Season:
Game 82 vs. Winnipeg, April 9, 2016, 7:30pm PST
One final tune-up before the playoffs start is upon us, but the Los Angeles Kings still have a little something to play when they host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
If they earn just one point on Saturday or if the Anaheim Ducks don’t win in their season finale, then the Los Angeles Kings will win their first division title since 1991, paving the way for a first-round matchup against the Nashville Predators. So, Saturday’s game will determine who the silver-and-black will face in the opening round: the Predators or the San Jose Sharks.
For the Jets, they will not be going to playoffs but will still hope to play the role of spoiler. The Kings, though, at 26 home wins, are just one shy of equaling a team record while a win would give them 103 points — second-most in franchise history.
Milan Lucic and Anze Kopitar both enter Saturday’s game on hot streaks. Lucic has three goals in his last two games while Kopitar has three assists in his last two outings.
Let’s see if the Kings can end the season on a positive note.
Enjoy the game!
